WALDLIED runner-up in G3 Prix De Royaumont

She must have watched her brother and thought I can do that too. Only two hours after WALDGEIST’s success in the G2 Grand Prix De Chantilly, his half-sister WALDLIED delivered a gutsy performance in the €80,000 G3 Prix De Royaumont in the very same place. The filly by New Approach made no mistakes under Pierre-Charles Boudot, who settled the eager three-year-old off the pace and took her around the final turn with a promising spot along the rails. Yet, the pair was somewhat unfortunate finding no hole to pass through until late in the stretch. When Waldlied finally found room, she drew away with fervour and proved the fastest horse down the last furlong though it was too late to catch the winner (far right in the photo). A fantastic effort nonetheless on a day where our happy spirits basked in the beautiful atmosphere of Chantilly’s premier race course.
