Ammerland-bred MR HOLLYWOOD strong runner-up in 188th Union-Rennen (Gr.2)

Today, the derby crop met in Cologne for the most important trial en route to the Gr.1 German Derby, run in three weeks at Hamburg-Horn. Ammerland-bred MR HOLLYWOOD, who recently won the Gr.3 Bavarian Classic and was unbeaten in his two lifetime starts, entered the gates as one of the favoured horses. After 2,200 metres, the colt by Iquitos out of Margie's Music finished in a brilliant second place in this spectacular 188th running of the Gr.2 Union-Rennen. Given that MR HOLLYWOOD did not meet his favoured ground, the Henk Grewe-trained colt ran a formidable race under Lukas Delozier with a powerful late run in the final straight that certainly confirmed him as a force to be reckoned with in three weeks at Hambourg.
