LOPE DE VEGA's CARL SPACKLER superior in Gr.3 Saranac Stakes

Three-year-old CARL SPACKLER notched his second graded stakes win in a row at Saratoga tonight. The LOPE DE VEGA colt, who is trained by Chad Brown for e Five Racing Thoroughbreds, had his stead partner Tyler Gaffalione on board for a confident win in the Gr.3 Saranac Stakes, a 1700 metres race for three-year-olds ran over turf. Irish bred CARL SPACKLER drew clear by three and a half lengths following a confident trip breathing down the neck of Taking Candy for most of the race until his jockey took him to task and the race was decided within a few jumps.
